Keyboard shortcut for "Go to next unread"
...regardless of in which feed it lives. Whether it's in the same feed or the next feed.
Just like NetNewsWire.
I *really* really think FreeNews is great. Perfect in just about every way, and unless I discover some show-stopper I'll be signing up for sure post-trial.
This is SO much better than some of the others out there. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the nice words! I'm glad you appreciate it.
The "Next Unread" feature you've asked for has been just been implemented in the latest 2.1.9 build. Plus there's a shortcut for it.

Let me know if it needs any tweaking. |

Thanks for the quick reply, David, but none of this behaviour seems to have changed from the previous two versions. Installed FreeRange 2.1.9.
When I went from 217 to 218 though, I selected "Later" for rebooting after the install was done. After a manual restart sometime later, and then upon opening FR, there was a fatal error message. So I reinstalled and did the reboot immediately as "urged" by the dialog box and all was well. Maybe something got borked in that process. I think I'll completely uninstall and reinstall and see if there's some lingering code in there from earlier versions.
"0" and "9" perform exactly the same behaviours - they proceed down the list whether read or unread. And neither will jump to a new feed not to mention not go to a feed within a parent. |
