|
|
When trying to access http://www.scripting.com/rss.xml, data is downloaded, yet the feeds are presented in a clear type so they are not vissiable unless you click upon the item. I would suspect it should work like all other sites, where the first few words of the article wold be listeed. _________________ David Golden |

Unfortunately, there are no titles defined in the RSS data, so there are no titles to show!
Because FreeNews shows lists of titles as the first level into a channel, the RSS feeds that you subscribe to really do need to have titles defined. This is standard stuff for RSS channel construction, so maybe you could let those folks know that their feed is missing something pretty important? |

Thank you. Have a wrote to the site's author and have not heard back. Regardless, for my own education, are you doing someting unique with your site. I do not have these same challenges when using the 3-4 other mobile RSS readers I have been evaluating. _________________ David Golden |

There is no <title> tag but the other readers are likely generating their own title information by copying the first bit of the <description> tag.
I'm adding this as an enhancement to our database. |

Good call! I'm always in favour of intelligent flexibility over dogmatic adherence to standards where it impacts on usability. :)
Of course, goldend329, it would be good if you were able to get through to the feed author to let them know. It may be handled acceptably in most readers but it isn't well formed RSS code.

Thanks. As it has been added to the database is it supposed to work now.
If so, this is not the case. You can try for yourself using the rss feed for Scripting News.
Looking forward to your insight.
